This Westchester Locale Jumps To No. 2 Spot On Richest Places National Index

A Westchester village whose residents saw a $30,000 increase in average household income last year jumped to the No. 2 spot on the newly released annual Bloomberg Richest Places national index.

The Top 100 places came from the same 16 states as last year, including 13 locations in New York and five in Connecticut.

Scarsdale, with an average household income of $417,335, moved up to the second spot after being ranked third nationally last year. Ranked No. 1 is Silicon Valley, California suburb Atherton, earning the top spot for the third straight year, with its residents making an average of $450,696 annually.

The top-ranked location in Connecticut is No. 8 Darien, with an average household income of $341,090, up from the No. 10 ranking last year.

Old Greenwich moved down from No. 7 last year to No. 12 this year. Neighboring Riverside moved up from No. 26 last year to No. 23 this year. 

Ranking second in Westchester and ninth in the nation is Bronxville ($340,448 average announcing income), followed by No. 15 Larchmont ($313,586)

Westport finished No. 18 in the new data after ranking 19th last year while Rye moved up to No. 29 from No. 35 last year.
